The Center for Children's Environmental Literature (CCEL)

Founded by Lynne Cherry, The Center for Children's Environmental Literature (CCEL) is a non-profit organization comprised of authors and illustrators of children's books who through literature and education are committed to connecting children to the natural world which they can then explore, understand and conserve.

Nature's Course, published by CCEL, presents ways to use children's literature as a resource for teaching about the environment and nature through creative and inspirational means. Published quarterly, each issue focuses on a particular theme that can be explored through children's books, arts and hands-on experience and includes expanded resources for parents and educators on that specific topic. "For Inspiration" section of the newsletter comprises descriptions of what children have actually pursued to improve the world.
